MUSICIAN, COMPOSER AND PROFESSOR

Paulino Paredes is one of the most important Mexican music composers and the primary representative in Nuevo Leon for the Nationalist movement developed in Mexico during the first half of the 20th century. Performed activities of great importance in Michoacan, his home state, as well as in Monterrey, where he lived since 1948.

His art work has been asleep for many years in his Legacy's coffer. After a sudden and early farewell, many of his works were kept in unprinted and unperformed.

On the other hand, his wife Esther, "the beloved and only one" and "the well beloved", with the difficult task to sustain the family of four children, could do much promotion of his works.

Only a few works such as Espalda Mojada, performed by the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional directed by Luis Herrera de la Fuente only three days before his death, and his Cantata Mariana, had been performed with frequency by Orchestras and Choirs during this years.

Was until the 40th Death Anniversary that important events happened including world premiers of some works that used to be only in music notebook, participating heavily maestro Félix Carrasco, Guillermo Villarreal and Carlos Paredes.

These works have been converted in electronic format to produce scores to finally perform them. Yet there is still many more.
